Oculoplastic procedures

We perform cosmetic and lid surgeries (droopy eyelids - ptosis surgery, eyelid turned outwards - ectropion or eyelid turned inwards against the surface of the eye - entropion, eyelid cysts - chalazion, small formations on the eyelids - basal-cells carcinoma, fibromas, eyelid papilloma).

Dermatochalasis

Excess of skin in the upper or lower eyelid known as “baggy eyes”

Blepharochalasis

Excess skin and fat above the eyelids which may obstruct vision

COSMETIC SURGERY OF THE EYELIDS

It is both an aesthetic and, if in advanced stage, a medical procedure.

Cosmetic surgery of the eyelids (dermatochalasis, blepharochalasis) consists in the surgical removal of excess skin of the eyelids and, in the case of blepharochalasa excess adipose tissue. The surgery is performed under local anesthesia here in our surgical room. After the surgery, it is necessary to rest and to avoid any strenuous activity as recommended by the doctor and to cool the area of the eyelids immediately after the surgery. It is both an aesthetic and, if in advanced stage, a medical procedure. The pressure of the loose skin of the eyelids and fat on the eye can lead to impaired function of the Meibomian glands at the edges of the eyelids which subsequently worsens function of the tear film, while slightly worsening visual acuity and leading to eye fatigue. Its removal relieves the feeling of heavy eyelids and eye fatigue.

Cataract surgery

We provide comprehensive care for cataract patients from diagnostics to surgery and postoperative monitoring. Patients diagnosed with cataract will be recommended the most optimal procedure, including the recommendation whether to implant a monofocal, multifocal or trifocal lens based on their preferences and the eye examination. We perform surgeries using the state-of-the-art equipment and proven intraocular lenses by Zeiss and Alcon.

Cataract surgery is an intraocular surgery where the cloudy intraocular lens is removed using the ultrasound technology. After that an artificial intraocular lens with biocompatible material is implanted in the eye. Eye numbing drops are used to numb the eye before the surgery. After the surgery, it is necessary to avoid any strenuous activity for 4 weeks, especially heavy lifting or forward bending positions.
