Oculoplastic procedures and intraocular surgery
We perform plastic surgery of the eyelids and correction of eyelid malposition (ptosis — drooping eyelid, ectropion — outward-turning eyelid, entropion — inward-turning eyelid, chalazion, and small eyelid lesions — basal cell carcinomas, fibromas, warts).
Eyelid surgery involves the surgical removal of excess eyelid skin. The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia in our surgical suite. It is both an aesthetic and, in advanced cases, a therapeutic procedure.
Excess eyelid skin with prolapsing fatty tissue beneath the eyelid skin. The pressure of sagging skin and fat on the eye can impair meibomian gland function and consequently the tear film.
We provide comprehensive care for cataract patients from diagnosis through surgery to post-operative follow-up. We operate using the latest equipment and implant proven intraocular lenses from Zeiss and Alcon.
Cataract surgery is an intraocular procedure in which the clouded natural lens is removed by ultrasound (phacoemulsification). After surgery, strenuous activity — especially bending forward and lifting heavy objects — should be avoided for 4 weeks.
